How the Learning Network North can support your Local Practitioner Forum
We can support you in a number of ways, including: participating in your LPF; providing input at start up stage by organising initial meetings; sharing ideas regarding who might wish to become involved; promoting your Local Practitioner Forum through our website.
Use our website
At a national Local Practitioner Forum meeting in 2009, it was agreed that contact details and information on LPFs in each Learning Network region, would be hosted on the Learning Networks' website. Our website is accessed by a wide range of people working across the social services sector, who you can also reach if you promote news items or events for your LPF, through us.
We also have the capacity to provide access to your very own page on our website, which you can update with information on your LPF. Given the number of people who access our site, this could be a quick and easy way of connecting with a wide range of people who would benefit from getting involved in your LPF.
Use the Learning Network North Portal
If you would like to make more extensive use of the online environment to interact with members of your LPF, we can also set up a site for you on our portal. The Learning Network North Portal is a communication and learning hub, which supports communities, networking and learning for use by those working in the social services sector. It was developed in 2007 by the Learning Network North, in collaboration with the Robert Gordon University. It features many Web 2.0 tools which can be used for communication, building up knowledge bases, sharing calendars, hosting documents, etc.
